Piano roll note editing

When a clip is open in the piano roll, the copy, paste, select-all, and delete shortcuts above apply to notes instead of clips. These are the same keys, just in a different context. Melony knows which to act on based on where your cursor is.

Ctrl + C Copy selected notes
Ctrl + X Cut selected notes
Ctrl + V Paste notes at the playhead
Ctrl + A Select all notes in the clip
Delete Delete selected notes

Computer keyboard - musical mode

When the computer keyboard is enabled and the selected track has a pitched instrument loaded, the middle row of your keyboard plays notes. The layout matches a piano: white keys on the home row, black keys on the row above.

A S D F G H J K White notes (C through C, one octave)
W E T Y U Black notes (C#, D#, F#, G#, A#)
Z Shift the keyboard down one octave
X Shift the keyboard up one octave
C Decrease playing velocity by 10
V Increase playing velocity by 10

Computer keyboard - drum mode

When the selected track has a drum kit loaded, the computer keyboard switches to a fixed pad layout. Each key triggers one piece of the kit.

Z Kick
X Snare
C Hi-hat (closed)
V Hi-hat (open)
A Snare 2
S Hi-hat pedal
D Low floor tom
F High floor tom
Q Low tom
W Low-mid tom
E Hi-mid tom
R High tom
1 Crash cymbal
2 Crash 2
3 Ride cymbal
4 Ride bell
Context matters The number keys 1–4 select tools during normal use, but play drum sounds when a drum kit is loaded on the selected track. Similarly, Z/X/C/V shift octave and velocity on pitched instruments, but play kick/snare/hi-hats on drums.
